The Blast Operator is responsible for ensuring the blasting/Load Make-Up cell is running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include working in several different production areas and being adaptable to fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Inspecting equipment throughout the shop and promptly reporting any concerns to the shift supervisions will be crucial.

• Be knowledgeable in and enforce racking & loading procedures, tagging procedure, and lot control procedures
• Safe & efficient operations of all production equipment
• Prioritize processing based on schedule
• Perform inspection using correct methods
• Document & report any maintenance issues to shift foreman
• Monitor & program all furnaces to process correct parameters
• Understand the processing of all material within production areas
• Ensure plant organization and cleanliness

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (citizen or lawful permanent resident; no sponsorship)
• Position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance; candidates must be a lawful permanent resident or protected individual; foreign persons require DSP-5 license
• All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test and background check
• May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends

• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions
• Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
• Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
• Must demonstrate ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Must demonstrate ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra and geometry)
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Prior factory work, blasting, or heat-treating experience preferred
