This Position reports to:
Product Engineering & Quality Manager
In this role, you will be accountable for leading the Product Engineering team within the ABB Motion Medium Voltage System Drives business unit in the United States. You will collaborate closely with Field Quality and Reliability teams, Order Execution, Product Management, and Production, as well as with our global engineering counterparts, to ensure strong technical support for our customers and successful delivery of Medium Voltage drive solutions.

Lead development activities for new Medium Voltage (MV) drive options, features, and next‑generation drive platforms, ensuring delivery of technical solutions that meet internal specifications, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
Responsible for design reviews, validation testing, engineering documentation, and certification activities.
Coordinate all certification processes with UL and other regulatory agencies.
Manage engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, progress tracking, risk identification, and issue mitigation.
Drive the creation, improvement, and standardization of engineering processes, practices, and tools in alignment with the global Medium Voltage engineering community.
Provide engineering expertise and support throughout both Development and Execution phases, ensuring proper resource allocation, technical oversight, and resolution of engineering issues.
Provide expertise to leverage engineering capabilities in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and field quality investigations. Share lessons learned and best practices across the team.
Build and develop the Product Engineering team through training, mentoring, career development planning, and shadowing programs.
Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, technical rigor, and active knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications for the roleBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
7+ years of experience with Medium Voltage (MV) drives, including design, development, application, testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Master's degree in Product Development or Product Engineering is preferred.
Strong understanding of MV drive functionality, control principles, and system architecture.
Demonstrated experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), as well as qualification testing, validation, and certification for Medium Voltage drives or similar power‑electronic systems.
Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
