Summary:
BOP Assembly Technician is responsible for supporting the assembly, operation, and troubleshooting of advanced steam fed electrolysis systems used for hydrogen production, working closely with engineers to build and validate electrolyzer steam delivery systems, and testing infrastructure. Essential Functions of the Position:
Plan, engineer, design, produce and assemble mechanical and chemical systems. Read and generate blueprints, sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files. Plan, set up and validate tests of complete test stations and electrolyzer units and their components, and record and analyze results. Write and use software for data acquisition and analysis, including Python, Sci Lab/MATLAB. Install piping and tubing for steam and gases and wire basic electrical components.
Compare test results with design specifications and with test objectives and recommend changes, if needed, in products or test methods. There will be opportunities for training as well.

Qualifications:
2 years of industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of experience with an Associate’s degree, or 10 years of experience or applicable military experience - Experience troubleshooting and fixing mechanical systems, including pumps, heat-exchangers, furnaces, regulators and pneumatics
- Analytical skills to understand blueprints, models and specifications for parts and design
- Experience with computer applications, including basic control systems, CAD/CAM and CNC machining
- Ability to fabricate and assemble complex parts, jigs and test system components
- Proven ability to suggest alternative, cost-effective solutions
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Results-oriented and able to work independently
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- General understanding of lab safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Deep understanding of materials properties including polymers, metals, ceramics, solvents and pigments;
Experience in scientific equipment/component manufacturing;
Expertise in welding and brazing small intricate parts
- Ability to lift, carry and move equipment up to 50 pounds, frequently
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop and reach for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed
- Manual dexterity required for operating warehouse tools and equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot/cold) within the warehouse environment
- Visual and auditory ability to safely operate equipment and identify hazards
