This Position reports to:
Product Engineering & Quality Manager
In this role, you will be technical responsible for MV drives in Motion System Drives in New Berlin, Wisconsin, understanding the product topology, functionality and application, providing technical support to the local team in cooperation of global R&D teams. You will work on new product releases and collaborate with other members of the PE&Q on current products life cycle activities.

- Demonstrates strong technical proficiency by independently solving complex industrial challenges, mentoring junior team members, and contributing as a recognized expert within Product Engineering.
- Executes a broad range of tasks within the assigned area, covering the entire lifecycle from concept and requirements through design, implementation, integration, testing, and ongoing maintenance and operations.
- Define, execute and evaluate qualification tests of electrical components for Medium Voltage drives, including multi-winding transformers.
- Support Supply Chain Management on localization of components, assist supplier selection and component qualification.
- Facilitate cross-functional design reviews, analyze concepts, and evaluate cost effectiveness of the component/assembly designs.
- Participates constructively in working teams. Shares own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and supports colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality results. Shows solid documentation skills and writes technical reports independently.

Qualifications for the role- Bachelor of Electrical or Electronics Engineering Degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in product design or development. Power Electronics equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform across multiple disciplines in a hands‑on, lab environment, with experience in test equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisitions equipment, etc.
- Strong focus on safety practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or E‑plan.
- Familiarity with UL and ANSI standards.
- Agility, as capacity to learn and change direction fast, is the recommended soft skill to drive the success of the business.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
