The Electro‑Mechanical Technician is a member of the Maintenance Department reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities include completing all emergency repairs and assigned preventative or routine maintenance of production and facility equipment of moderate to high degree of complexity, on an independent basis to support the overall goals of the company. - Diagnose, repair, maintain and perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing and facilities equipment.
- Take necessary precautions such as lockout tag‑out, guarding, etc. to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine downtime.
- Perform technical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and preventive maintenance task sheets to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance as well as develop preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform simple machinist and metal fabrication duties and responsibilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with all safety and environmental regulations including but not limited to: general safety, LO/TO, Confined Space, NFPA 70‑E, RCRA, PPE.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job‑related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Associates Degree/Trade School degree preferred.
