Job Summary: We are seeking a Machinist 1st Class - Welder to join our team in the Engineering & Technology department. This position involves setting up and operating a variety of machine shops and welding equipment to fabricate parts and machines from blueprints.

• Set up and operate a range of machine shop equipment, including lathes, Bridgeport millers, Proto TRAKs, grinders, belt sanders, and drill presses.
• Fabricate parts and machines from blueprints using machine shop and welding equipment.
• Operate sheet metal brakes and shears.
• Perform welding tasks using various equipment, including arc, MIG, TIG, and Heliarc welders.

• Vocational school graduate in Machine Shop or Machine and Tool Technology, or an equivalent curriculum, is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with arc, MIG, TIG, and Heliarc welding.

• Must have your own trade tools to perform job tasks.
• Proficiency in fabricating parts using lathes and milling machines.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and verniers.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn and apply quality standards to all work.

• Electrician License (MA 2nd Class Fireman License or MA Journeyman Electrician License)
• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping
• Knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical schematics
• Ability to obtain a forklift, pallet-jack, and/or man-lift license
