Wound Care Assistant – Position Overview

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs
Shift: Day shift, 7:45am – 4:30pm
Location: St. Luke's Hospital – New Bedford, MA
Position reports to Manager, Wound Care Center or designee. Perform a variety of clinic duties related to providing assistance to nursing staff in carrying out wound care treatments and medical office tasks related to ongoing department functions.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant/Aide program (required).
- BLS certification (required).
- National third‑party certification required for medical assistants within 13 months of hire.
- Current certification in Nursing Assistant/Aide or Medical Assistant (required).
- A minimum of one (1) year work experience in a healthcare setting or related medical office/clinic practice (preferred).
- Prior experience with an electronic medical record and/or health‑related computer software (preferred).
- Customer‑service experience or training (preferred).
- Fluency in a language other than English (preferred).
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19 or exempt by written statement (required).
Pay rate determined based on level of experience.
USD $17.66 – $29.70 /hr.
