Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounting and financial processes. In this role, you will play a vital part in reconciling accounts, improving procedures, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.

Responsibilities:

- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Oversee month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and adjustments.

- Maintain and update the general ledger with precision and attention to detail.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and validate balances.

- Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective accounting policies.

- Utilize advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting.

- Prepare financial reports and summaries to support management decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Assist in the development and refinement of internal procedures to enhance efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.

- Expertise in account and bank reconciliations.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables.

- Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements.

- Ability to identify and implement process improvements.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
