Experienced Bookkeeper​/Accountant

A growing fuel distribution and transportation company is seeking an Experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in New Bedford, MA. This position will report to Ownership and Operations Leadership and will oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, billing, payroll, and compliance reporting across multiple business lines.

$60K–$80K DOE + Health, Dental & PTO

• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities
• Manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, billing, payroll, and GL
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close
• Prepare and file fuel and transportation-related tax reports (including IFTA)
• Reconcile fuel purchases, deliveries, and customer billing
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Liaise with external accountants and regulatory agencies
• Identify and implement process improvements

• 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (fuel or trucking industry preferred)
• Strong understanding of fuel tax reporting and IFTA compliance
• Experience with Quick Books (Online or Enterprise) and strong Excel skills
• Ability to manage high-volume transactions across multiple entities
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
