Responsibilities
  • Assist the DON/CNO with planning, coordinating and supervising nursing operations for assigned units.
  • Oversee delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with empathy and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and nursing practice standards.
  • Anticipate census changes and allocate nursing resources based on acuity.
  • Serve as clinical resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
  • Recruit, hire and train new nursing staff.
  • Develop educational programs and assist with policy implementation.
  • Prepare reports and facilitate budgeting and expenditures.
  • Provide direct care as needed.
Other Functions
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BSN or higher (strongly preferred).
  • Current RN license in the state of facility (required).
  • Three years as a registered nurse (strongly preferred).
  • Two years of registered nursing experience (required).
  • Two years of prior experience as a registered nursing with patient population of the facility (preferred).
  • One year of prior experience with the population required.
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor (strongly preferred).
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience (required).
Licenses / Designations / Certifications
  • Current RN license as required by state.
  • CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
