Operations Manager
Position Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, including supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product. The manager plans inbound/outbound volume, customer communication, space utilization, and equipment management. People responsibilities include hiring, training, labor management, performance appraisals, and issue resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and enforce systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations.
- Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals in accordance with client SLAs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑saving measures.
- Achieve client KPI compliance and quality system requirements.
- Lead and motivate the workforce, create fair discipline programs, and counsel team members.
- Partner with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
- Schedule daily work, review work orders, and assign duties.
- Analyze space and staffing needs, and reorganize warehouse layout accordingly.
- Ensure training on SOPs, WMS systems, and safety is effectively delivered.
- Support ERP/IT systems: approve software/hardware purchases, maintain knowledge of updates.
- Maintain high customer service standards and client account support.
- Prepare and monitor operating budgets and cost controls.
- Oversee equipment safety, maintenance, and housekeeping standards.
- Maintain safety metrics, conduct audits, and ensure statutory compliance.
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 7 years experience in logistics/distribution with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperature ranges (mild to moderate).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and WMS systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to lift 21–50 lbs and perform bending, walking, and standing for prolonged periods.
