Job Description The Plant Manager - ARP position directs and coordinates the daily activities of the manufacturing plant to meet financial and operational objectives set by corporate, divisional, and business unit leadership. The plant manager oversees all plant operations with responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and related activities. This role serves as the senior Amcor representative locally and ensures compliance with the Amcor code of conduct, all regulations (federal and local), and company policies.
Accountabilities
and Responsibilities:
Promote a proactive safety, health, and environmental culture supporting Amcor's "zero incident" goal, exceeding local, state, and federal requirements.Adhere to Amcor Rigid Packaging Safety and Quality policies and procedures.Develop, manage, and optimize talent across the plant. Manage multicultural operational staff efficiently and ensure effective facility operation.Direct plant activities to optimize equipment utilization and operational efficiency.Ensure finished products conform to customer specifications, industry standards, and regulations.Review safety performance and training programs; actively participate in safety initiatives to maintain a safe work environment.Recommend and oversee execution of capital improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, or reduce costs.Engage employees in continuous improvement initiatives, sponsor and drive Six Sigma and Lean projects, and sustain through visual and daily management systems.Manage all financial aspects of the plant, controlling expenses to meet budget goals.Prepare reports on plant utilization, labor efficiency, material usage, scrap, etc.Collaborate with Amcor commercial teams and customers to coordinate activities and foster relationships.Stay informed on technical and managerial developments to support personal growth and coach employees for optimal performance.Coordinate production activities and delivery schedules with direct reports.Manage team of direct reports, including employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Foster an environment of safety, high performance, and compliance.Handle employee relations issues and may be assigned special projects.Ensure products are safe, meet specifications, regulations, and statutory requirements.Relationships:
