Position Summary:

In accordance with Wallick Mission and Values, The Painter is responsible for performing routine and as‑needed painting and finishing work in resident units, common areas, and exterior spaces of Assisted Living communities.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional painting experience (residential, commercial, or facility maintenance).
  • Familiarity with surface preparation techniques and application methods for various finishes.
  • Basic knowledge of drywall patching and repair.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and customer service skills; sensitivity to working in a senior living environment.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

Valid Driver’s License

Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Match paint colors and finish to existing surfaces as needed.
  • Protect surrounding areas and furniture using drop cloths, masking tape, and other protective materials.
  • Perform minor drywall repair, caulking, and touch-ups.
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Communicate with supervisors and residents to schedule work with minimal disruption.
  • Report any maintenance concerns outside the scope of painting to the Maintenance Director.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after each project.
Physical Demands:

Position requires extensive walking, stooping/bending, balancing, kneeling, squatting and climbing. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

Position requires work to be performed indoors and outside. Indoor working conditions are often inside resident apartment, common areas, or in the designated maintenance shop area. Outside work is throughout the community grounds and outdoor common areas. Possilbe travel to various communities.
