Data Center Technician position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an on‑call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

NOTE:
Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.
- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to overall availability of AWS services.
- Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
- Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each.
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).
- May be required to travel to established locations for training until designated site becomes fully operational.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
- Candidiate must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required by business needs.
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
- Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Resolve problems at root and step back to understand the broader context.
- Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- Act in absence of direction or support.
- Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
- Required to work shift work that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
