About the Role:

We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding pharmacy technician. As part of the pharmacy team, you will use your knowledge of USP 797 to compound medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.

This role is onsite at our New Albany, Ohio facility. We are currently hiring for the following day shift.

  • 6:00am-6:00pm, rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule
You Will:
  • Adhere to the safety and environment procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and wear appropriate PPE while executing daily tasks.
  • Compound sterile medications.
  • Perform the component preparation, the formulation of the solutions, perform the aseptic filling of the solutions and/or inspection and packaging of filled units.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities according to facility SOPs.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOPs.
  • Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797.
  • Communicate with pharmacists and report on issues in the lab.
  • Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
  • Completes training as required by USP 797.
You Have:
  • Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio and National Certification (CPhT).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Full-time role 40 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year compounding experience (nonsterile or sterile).
  • Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT).

Conditions of Employment:
  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Includes walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Due to the potential risks of handling hazardous drugs, associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects).
