Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets.

Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and confrm to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
  • Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.

Material Management

  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities

  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control

  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical

  • Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities

For Direct Hire

  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Owns technical oversight of subcontract scope—deep knowledge of contract requirements, specs, drawings, and codes; ensures subcontract work is compliant and buildable.
  • Manages technical interfaces—coordinates between subcontractor, engineering, construction, and QC to resolve design clarifications, RFIs, and field changes quickly.
  • Drives quality and readiness—verifies submittals, ITPs, inspections, and test requirements are in place before work proceeds; prevents rework and NCRs.
  • Controls scope, changes, and deliverables—tracks quantities, validates progress, and supports evaluation of technical impacts to change orders and claims.
