** AEP is seeking a Civil Engineer with six (6) or more years of civil site engineering experience and leadership skills that are searching for an opportunity to join the Civil / Geotechnical Engineering (CGE) group at American Electric Power (AEP) in New Albany,OH. ** Job Description
**** Civil Engineer - Site / Land Development (Sr - Prin):
** Qualified candidates shall possess knowledge of civil site engineering principles through education and/or demonstrated project experience related to:
• site grading
• stormwater management
• drainage design/analysis
• roadway design
• retaining walls
• erosion and sediment control
• permitting• surveying
** Knowledge and/or experience using AutoCAD and Civil3D software is strongly preferred.
** Successful candidates will possess the proven ability to assess and recommend best case civil engineering solutions and collaborate with higher level non-civil engineers and other project stakeholders in solving civil engineering related challenges in consideration of safety, performance, cost, constructability, risk, and liability.

Travel (~10%) is required for this position and will consist of trips to the field to diagnose civil engineering issues related to electric transmission lines and substations. Field assignments are generally within a 5-hour driving distance of the assigned office location. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Some OT may be required, as approved.

**** Engineer Sr ($115,000 - $135,000):
** Has typically acquired six (6) or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in a program accredited by ABET ; or four (4) years of related engineering experience along with a master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering from a program accredited by ABET .
** Engineer Principal ($135,000 - $155,000):
** Has typically acquired eight (8) or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in a program accredited by ABET ; or six (6) years of related engineering experience along with a master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering from a program accredited by ABET .Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico   is required as an Engineer Principal unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.

** Acceptable education alternatives are:
** Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in civil engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.

** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
** ABET accredited program requirement may be waived at the discretion of VP or Executive level and above based on relevant qualifications and experience.
