Coordinator – Customer Service II is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Baptist Memorial Health Care.

Job Summary

The Coordinator manages administrative and customer service tasks to ensure a smooth clinic experience. Responsibilities include verifying insurance, managing financial counseling, scheduling appointments, handling charge entry, and maintaining relationships with insurance companies. Effective communication and public relations skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Verify insurance and communicate with carriers for reimbursement.
  • Perform daily and monthly close-out procedures for internal controls and cash balancing.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance co-pays, deductibles, and workman's compensation protocols.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of corporate policies related to clinic operations.
  • Answer telephones, take and direct messages promptly.
  • Seek help from appropriate sources when needed.
  • Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Call patients to obtain payment or arrange financial arrangements for scheduled exams.
  • Schedule appointments, collect demographic and insurance information, and enter into the practice management system.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work environment with confidential records.
  • Coordinate resources to input accurate data and collect fees at time of service.
  • Complete assigned goals.
Experience
  • Minimum

    Required:

    One (1) year of experience in a physician practice or clinic.
Education
  • Minimum

    Required:

    Collegiate or medical trade completion;
    Associate’s Degree.
Training
  • Minimum

    Required:

    Current knowledge of medical terminology.
Special Skills
  • Minimum

    Required:

    Excellent customer relations skills; basic knowledge of Windows applications; current knowledge of medical terminology.
