Schedule:
Full time - hospital and clinic coverage, occasional weekend and holiday coverage
- New inpatient consults, inpatient follow-up visits
- Provide care to patients in the following settings:
Routine follow-up visits in the office, Urgent follow-up visits in the office - Urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits
- Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results)
- Participate in clinical continuous quality improvement activities
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and injections
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention
- Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs
- Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provide patient education
- Maintain and review patient’s records, charts, and other pertinent information
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation
- Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license
- Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority
- Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of billing services, understands various responsibilities in physician/NP/patient relationship
- Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board
- Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
