School Custodian

Floyd County Head Start is looking to expand our awesome custodial staff to keep our school clean and safe for children, staff, and parents!

SCHEDULE:

* Monday-Thursday 10AM-7PM

* 49 weeks (3 weeks off per year unpaid, one in October, one in December, and one in July)

* 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week worked, paid for 40

* Some Fridays (4 hours only) required throughout the school year for training/all staff meetings

SPECIFIC

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

* Work with other custodial stuff to provide a safe and clean environment for children, staff and parents.

* Organize and maintain all storage and work areas in a safe and orderly fashion and assist in recording custodial inventory supply amounts.

* Perform cleaning duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces.

* Perform basic maintenance/repair duties as needed including but not limited to changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, fixing broken classroom furniture.

* Organize and prioritize work to be completed using a provided cleaning schedule.

* Ensuring all cleaning supplies and hazardous materials are locked and out of children's reach.

* Maintain required yearly professional development hours as required by childcare licensing.

* Other related duties as assigned by Safety Compliance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES):

* Custodial training or experience (preferred)

* Minimum of High school diploma or GED (required)

* Physically able to operate all equipment necessary and perform all tasks as outlined

* Experience working with/around small children (preferred)

* Good communication skills

* Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a cooperative team
