Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the Director of Human Resources by performing a wide range of professional-level HR duties. This role plays a key part in benefits administration, payroll backup, employee relations and investigations, employee engagement initiatives, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders while helping to foster a positive, compliant, and engaged workplace culture.
EssentialFunctions
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources to administer and communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with benefits administration, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, employee questions, and coordination with benefits vendors and brokers.
- Serve as backup for full‑cycle payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable wage and hour laws.
- Support employee relations by responding to employee inquiries, coaching leaders, and assisting with conflict resolution.
- Conduct or assist with employee relations investigations, including gathering facts, documenting findings, and making recommendations in partnership with the Director of Human Resources.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture‑building activities; analyze engagement data and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate employee training, including new hire orientation, compliance training, and benefits‑related education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Assist with HR reporting, data analysis, and metrics to support continuous improvement in HR programs and employee experience.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s Family Core Values in all actions and interactions.
- Collaborate effectively with employees and management to support organizational goals.
- Customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent HR Generalist experience.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and government compliance regulations (federal, state, and local).
- Experience with benefits administration and payroll processes preferred.
- Strong employee relations and investigation skills, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.
- Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data to make sound recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
