Overview
The Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruiting process with a primary focus on hiring CDL A Drivers. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role plays a critical part in supporting operational staffing needs by developing effective recruiting strategies, improving recruiting processes, and identifying innovative platforms and methods to attract and retain qualified commercial drivers. In addition, this position supports a Shared Services recruiting model by assisting with recruiting for office, administrative, and professional roles as needed.
The HR Recruiter helps ensure consistency, efficiency, and best practices across all recruiting activities while maintaining flexibility to support multiple business units and locations.
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for CDL A Drivers, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding coordination.
- Support Shared Services recruiting efforts by assisting with full-cycle recruiting for office, administrative, and professional positions as business needs require.
- Collaborate closely with other recruiters and HR team members to ensure alignment, consistency, and workload balancing across recruiting functions.
- Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies to attract qualified CDL A drivers and office candidates in alignment with company growth and operational needs.
- Utilize and evaluate multiple recruiting platforms, including job boards, social media, referral programs, and industry-specific resources to reach driver and office candidates.
- Proactively identify, recommend, and implement improvements to recruiting processes, workflows, and tools to increase efficiency, candidate quality, and time-to-fill.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through ongoing sourcing and relationship-building efforts.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings, verify qualifications, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and operations leadership.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws throughout the recruiting process.
- Partner with the HR Director, Shared Services team, and operations leaders to understand staffing needs, turnover trends, and workforce planning priorities.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, turnover trends) and provide regular updates and recommendations to the HR Director.
- Support employer branding initiatives to position the company as an employer of choice across both transportation and corporate functions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential recruiting records and documentation.
- Assist with onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s core values in all actions and interactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent recruiting experience.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of recruiting experience preferred, with a strong emphasis on CDL A driver or transportation/logistics recruiting.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and online recruiting platforms.
- Strong sourcing and networking skills, particularly in competitive labor markets.
- Ability to analyze recruiting data and recommend process improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities.
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
