Job DutiesIn this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.
About the UnitThe Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing. With nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4:1, our team provides high-quality care to adult patients. The unit includes 15 Neuro-specific beds and 26 PCU beds. We work as an interdisciplinary team with 24/7 leadership presence, including two clinical coordinators (days and nights) and a stroke coordinator.
Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizures/epilepsy, degenerative and autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, our team is recognized for high-quality stroke care. The NIU is described as a place where teamwork, clinical expertise, professional growth, and mentorship are valued. New grads are welcome.
- Self-Scheduling
- Work every weekend and receive PREMIUM PAY for WOW shifts
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required
- ACLS for Healthcare Providers required (obtained within 6 months of hire)
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire)
