Construction Accounting Specialist - AP/AR Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Accounting Specialist to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

+ Submit customer invoices and AIA pay applications.

+ Maintain accuracy in the schedule of values.

+ Track pay application status and follow up proactively.

+ Post customer payments daily.

+ Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging weekly.

+ Track retainage by project.

+ Assemble draw packages.

+ Manage customer-side lien waivers.

+ Execute structured collections outreach.

+ Enter and code vendor and subcontractor invoices.

+ Maintain commitment versus cost alignment.

+ Process weekly check runs.

+ Track subcontractor compliance, including certificates of insurance and waivers.

+ Prepare joint checks when required.

+ Reconcile credit cards and expenses.

+ Maintain accounts payable aging discipline.

+ Support pay-when-paid tracking.

Essential Skills

+ Accounts receivable and accounts payable management.

+ Proficiency in Quick Books.

+ Experience in construction and job cost accounting.

+ Strong Excel proficiency.

+ Familiarity with AIA billing.

+ AR collections experience.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ 3+ years of construction accounting experience.

+

Experience with Quick Books Online.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

+ Contract review and invoicing experience.

Work Environment

This position requires in-office work for 30 hours a week, with the potential to increase up to 40 hours as responsibilities grow. You have the flexibility to determine your work schedule as long as it falls within standard business hours (8-5). The company operates in the commercial construction and real estate sector.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
