Under general and direct supervision of the Public Works Director and Compost/Landfill/Garbage (CLG) Supervisor, operates and maintains the city landfill using heavy equipment and related transportation vehicles qualified to operate. Includes daily compaction and coverage of landfill waste, performs maintenance of landfill road and related equipment, record keeping of daily activities, maintains and services the city owned facilities, vehicles and equipment, performs physical labor including weed and pest control, repairing streets and sidewalks, framing, roofing, painting bricklaying, installation and repair of water, sewer and storm drainage pipes, cement work and other duties as may be required.

Individual may be required to work flexible shifts including weekends, overtime, and working in extreme environments (i.e. heat, cold, dust and odors); must be capable of lifting and/or moving objects of 50-100lbs frequently. Must possess a valid Driver’s License in Nevada or an equivalent from another state outside Nevada/Utah but must be able to acquire an appropriate Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.

Maintains, cleans and services City owned facilities, vehicles and equipment. Assists in other Compost, Reuse and Public Works projects as needed. May be required to be on call as needed and may be required to work in extreme working environments including outdoors related to heat, cold, dust, and odors.

STARTING SALARY $16.79 to $20.35/Hour DOQ/E

SALARY RANGE: $16.79 to $28.69/Hour
