Radiological Regulatory Compliance Specialist I at Nevada National Security Sites
Job DescriptionMission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). - Performs work of limited scope and basic complexity (under supervision), generally in support of more senior compliance professionals.
- Obtains/maintains a working knowledge of the radiological regulatory and contractual requirements and how they may impact the Radiological Control organization.
- Participates in analysis and resolution of potential areas of non-compliance through continual formal/informal risk assessment, investigations, and audits.
- Assists with reviewing, compiling, and summarizing data and in the identification of potential or actual areas of non-compliance for all departments within the Radiological Control organization.
- Assists with the implementation of corrective action plans to address identified compliance issues through the Radiological Awareness Reporting (RAR) process and the company’s issue management system (caWeb).
- Assists with the compliant indexing, organizing, and storage of radiological records.
- Assists with internal and external requests for radiological records.
- Assists with the execution of other records and regulatory compliance duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, supervision, and/or program leads.

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in worker safety and health, quality assurance, nuclear engineering, radiological protection, law, security, law enforcement or other related field or equivalent training and experience.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in radiological protection, occupational safety and health, or quality assurance.
- Equivalent training and experience that will be considered include:
Radiological Control Technician, Radiation Protection Technologist, Health Physics Technician. - NRRPT, CSP, ASP certifications preferred.
- Must successfully pass the DOE Core and Site RCT Academics (if not already a qualified RCT).
- Must maintain any identified qualifications necessary to execute the responsibilities of the position.
- Must possess excellent oral/written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent research, scientific skills, and analytical skills.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of people, from front line to executive leadership, in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Works under direct supervision with general guidance from more experienced regulatory compliance officers. Limited use and/or application of principles, theories, and concepts. Follows specific established procedures and instructions.
