Overview
It is the responsibility of the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Lead Security Officer to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer, as well as the supervision and training of officers and performing basic and advanced security functions and Guest Services for the Golden Nugget /Landry’s Inc. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P.

- Assist management and supervise direct training of new security employees.
- Assist the management team in supervision of Security Officers.
- Assist management with administrative duties.
- Assist management with supervisory duties during emergency situations.
- Provide training to other members of the security department
- Provide training to other members of the Company

- Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results
- Above average knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows and Office applications required.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management and line level employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to understand questions and instructions from management.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents in English.
- Ability to properly respond to common inquiries from employees or guests.
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
- Ability to properly react rationally to high stress situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Working knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of state and local laws and how to apply them.
- Ability to properly use security equipment such as: two-way radio, handcuffs, etc.
- Ability to successfully complete and legally possess the following training certifications:
- Electronic Control Device (i.e., Taser)
- Security Training Officer Training.
Must successfully complete at least one of the following training certifications:
- Security Report Writer Training
- Security Dispatcher Training
- Security Plain Clothes Training
- Security Outside Officer Training
- Security Lost and Found
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
- PLEASE NOTE:
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A GAMING LICENSE BY THE NEVADA GAMING CONTROL BOARD
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have 1 year with the company in the security department.
Must have successfully completed the Security PC/Report writer class and/or the Security Dispatcher Class.
Three or more years of experience in military, law enforcement or gaming security and experience in any of the listed security disciplines, within a hotel/casino preferred.
Mathematical SkillsTwo or more years of customer service experience preferred.
Basic math skills.
Language SkillsMust be able to speak and understand English.
Physical Demands- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
- Frequently stooping, reaching.
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
