Job Overview
The Montana Heritage Commission preserves and manages historic resources in Virginia City and Nevada City and promotes the appreciation of history through a quality visitor experience. The MHC is hiring one seasonal short-term worker not to exceed 90 workdays. Weekends and extended hours are required with the season beginning mid‑May and ending in September (Labor Day).

Collections Department Custodian Tasks- Wash windows / door glass daily for all displays
- Dust and wipe glass displays and get bugs out of front windows
- Sweep floors, remove trash from public areas
- Clean plexiglass barriers
- Clean cobwebs inside visible windows, dust display cases
- Cleaning and handling of artifacts
- Assist Customer Service Associates as needed
- Other duties as assigned – giving train crew lunch break (driving train)
Employees must be flexible in order to work varied shifts as well as a variety of concessions. Shared housing is provided for employees who stay the whole season (Memorial Day weekend – Labor Day).

Qualifications – ExternalThe knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of job‑related experience. Other combinations of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
