DEFINITION
Under the general supervision of the Homemaker Services Coordinator, provide companionship and non‑medical services to elders aged 60 years or older. Provide emotional support and improve the quality of life of the senior. Assist with some physical care while lifting the client to thrive meeting the clients' goals.
- Provide companionship to client
- Prepare and serve meals and/or snacks.
- Provide shopping service to client
- Aid and plan client's recreational activities and events.
- Help provide emotional support.
- Assist with activities of daily living.
- Observe and report changes in client's physical condition, behavior, or appearance.
- Follow a written care plan, proper procedures in emergency situations and maintain records of daily activities.
- Help with planning, scheduling, and keeping appointments; escort clients on non‑medical appointments.
- Provide companionship for the client, i.e., accompany client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
