# Project Overview:

Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far  enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year. As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility.

We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services. Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway. The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.

Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium. Job Summary:

Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity.  Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area.  Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned.  Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.

# Major Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline or area.

+ Determines workforce requirements.

+ Coordinates established area operational plans.

+ Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.

+ Monitor work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.

+ Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.

+ Approves craft time records using established automated tools.

+ Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.

+ Monitors tool usage on the site and prepares Field Material

Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

+ Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.

+ Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.

+ Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management, performs employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.

+ Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility and ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.

+ Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.

+ Implements Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision making in the execution of duties.

Requires bachelor's or master's degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
