Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the U.S., enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year. The project is located in the high desert of north-central Nevada, near the Oregon border.
Job SummaryAs the Night Shift Operations Manager, you will oversee construction activities, supervision of craft personnel, ES&H, and field engineering. Your leadership will ensure operations comply with safety, schedule, scope, and budget requirements while maintaining client satisfaction.
Major Responsibilities- Manage the organization and direction of construction and related activities, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
- Act as the primary client contact for all night shift field activities.
- Oversee total night shift management, including supervision of construction craft personnel, ES&H personnel, and field engineering.
- Control night shift expenditures for labor, equipment, material, and services, ensuring field operations stay within budget.
- Establish field procedures and objectives in line with corporate policies and onsite conditions.
- Implement and administer a night shift security plan, coordinating with the corporate security department.
- Plan and establish procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience, or 19+ years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction operations across all disciplines and job‑site management.
- Demonstrated leadership in a team‑based environment.
- Understanding of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and Bechtel Core Processes.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program.
- Knowledge of project‑specific environmental compliance requirements and general environmental law awareness.
- Knowledge of government compliance standards.
- Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience.
- Knowledge of local labor laws and issues.
- Proficiency with manual craft timekeeping, word processing, spreadsheets, and standard applications per BSAP standards.
- Knowledge of the project and Bechtel Quality Assurance program.
- Working knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
- Prior US Mega‑Project experience.
