Lab Supervisor / Metallurgist
Job Title: Lab Supervisor / Metallurgist
Location: Hawthorne, Nevada (candidates open to relocation are encouraged to apply)
Base Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 USD (dependent on experience)
The Client: Our client is an established gold mining operation in Nevada with on-site processing and heap leach facilities. As they continue to optimize operations, they are building out their on-site metallurgical and laboratory capabilities to support recovery, QA/QC, and metallurgical accountability.
What you will achieve in this role:- Establish and lead day-to-day activities of an on-site assay and metallurgical lab
- Support gold recovery operations through cyanide leach and metallurgical testing programs
- Implement and uphold QA/QC protocols and lab procedures
- Partner with operations to support leach pad and ADR performance
- Manage sample tracking, lab data, and metallurgical reporting
- Help build the foundation for a future lab team as the operation grows
- Maintain strong safety and environmental standards
- Degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field
- Experience in a mining or metallurgical laboratory environment
- Hands‑on experience with gold processing and cyanide‑based systems
- Familiarity with metallurgical test work and precious metals analysis
- Strong QA/QC understanding and attention to detail
- Self‑sufficient and comfortable working in a standalone role initially
- Willingness to work on-site in a mine environment
