Thacker Pass, NV - Hourly Range: $61.12 - $93.20 hourly (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities- Must have experience with construction in all areas of piping installation.
- Provide guidance to the FE’s so they can complete training requirements.
- Review pipe installation work packages for completeness.
- Assist with inspection of field installations and completion of associated documentation.
- Review quantity take-offs, control, reporting and forecasting for piping quantities.
- Assist with field change documentation and as-built documentation as required.
- Teach the FE’s as to how best to resolve design and constructability issue.
- Oversee the FE’s interaction with superintendents and subcontractors in constructability and quality issues.
- Work with the suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
- Train FE’s on material requisitions, coordinate, and review vendor drawings, and best practices to expedite the delivery of vendor materials to support the project schedule.
- Assist Piping FE’s with the interpretation of design drawings.
- Assist with piping material take-offs.
- Assist Piping FE’s to assure that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.
- Review the Piping FE’s material receipt inspections.
- Review the FE’s preparation of construction estimates.
- Advise the FE on how to approach recommendations of design or installation improvements to improve safety on the project.
- University/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 13-15 years field piping engineering experience is desired, or 17-19 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft preferred
- Contract management experience
- Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred
- Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of multiple technical engineering disciplines relating to the construction of industrial projects
- Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility
- Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Bechtel s "Zero Accidents" safety program
- Knowledge of current industry design standards
- Prior US Mega-Project direct hire construction experience
