# Project Overview:

Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States. As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. The project is in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.

Job Summary:

The Lead Structural Field Engineer reports to the Area Field Engineer/Project Field Engineer and is responsible for the technical oversight of all steel activities on the project.  The selected applicant shall provide technical direction to the direct hire work force as well as supervision. The Lead Structural Field Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the structural steel related work.  LI-NP1

# Major Responsibilities:

+ Must have experience with construction in all areas of concrete and steel structures.

+ Coordinate with supervision the work schedule and any material deliveries required

+ Complete training requirements assigned.

+ Preparation of concrete and steel installation work packages

+ Inspection of field installations and completion of associated documentation.

+ Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting for all civil/structural quantities.

+ Prepare field change documentation and as-built documentation as required.

+ Interface with engineering office to resolve design and constructability issue.

+ Assist superintendents and subcontractors in constructability and quality issues.

+ Work with the suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.

+ Prepare material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings.

+ Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure the delivery of vendor materials to support the projects schedule.

+ Interpret design drawings.

+ Complete Concrete material take-offs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

+ ​​​​​​​Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

# Required Knowledge and

Skills:

+ University/B.S degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.

+ 6-8 years minimum field civil/structural engineering experience.

+

Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft preferred

+ Contract management experience

+ Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.

+ Experience in mining and metals

+ Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other…
