Overview
TRC is seeking a RPLS - Registered Professional Land Surveyor for the Reno, Nevada region.
Responsibilities- Reviews project survey requirements and participates in the development of a written plan for the execution of the activities needed to meet those requirements. The "Execution Plan" should include a description of the scope of work to be performed, a time schedule reflecting the key tasks necessary for the completion of the activities, a budget reflecting the estimated costs of completion, an organization chart reflecting the number and management structure for personnel required to complete the necessary activities, a listing of office space and equipment necessary to carry out the survey activities, a listing of key objectives, permits or milestones and the outside inputs required to complete the necessary activities, copies of documents, records, and reports necessary to record the survey activities, and procedures for controlling changes in work scope, documentation, safety, emergency response, and quality.
- Responsible for successfully carrying out project Execution Plans, including managing the scope of work, maintaining and updating project schedules and budgets, managing project personnel, and assigning personnel and equipment as needed. Orients survey personnel on TRC values, safety, survey policies and procedures, and project schedule. Assigns tasks to each survey personnel and ensures documentation is completed. Monitors performance, compliance with project requirements, and any changes in work scope, schedule, or budget.
Documents required changes in schedules and budgeted costs as a result of work scope changes. - Reviews survey data for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitors documentation control and filing systems to assure ready storage and retrieval of project documents, records, and reports.
- Maintains close communications with the Project Manager, Survey Director, and Client Representative to report survey progress and resolve issues.
- Ensures the review of all survey personnel time and expense reports for completeness, accuracy, and approval.
- At project completion, supervises the preparation and submission of the complete documentation for all survey activities performed into a project completion package to the Survey Director / Client Representative.
- ABET accredited 4-year Survey Degree or Engineering Degree with accreditation in survey
- RPLS
- Minimum five years licensed surveying experience with previous supervisory assignments
- Knowledge in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) survey methods, electronic data collection, and the processes and computer programs necessary for survey data review and transfer to mapping
- Licensed Registered Professional Land Surveyor
- Physical Demands:
Position is primarily an office-based role; however, the candidate must be able to walk several miles a day, sometimes in rough terrain, to supervise field activities as needed. - Work Environment:
Indoor environment; field support in various terrains and climates, including exposure to plants and wildlife.

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation:
Eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against KPIs which vary by year and employee.
