About the Role

Manage Air Permitting and Compliance for Hawthorne Army Depot:

  • Manage and maintain Nevada air quality permits (Class I and Class II) ensuring relevancy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with HWAD personnel and regulators on air compliance matters.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance activities, including emissions testing, continuous monitoring, and inspections, managing subcontractors as needed.
  • Develop and implement plans and procedures.
  • Prepare internal and external reports.
  • Supervise internal environmental audits.
  • Maintain records required by regulations.
  • Support other HWAD environmental compliance areas (hazardous waste, water, etc.).
  • Assist with managing RCRA Hazardous Waste TSDF permits and NPDES wastewater discharge permits.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, environmental sciences, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of environmental management experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations.
  • Experience obtaining and managing permits.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience with environmental management systems.
  • Certified in 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, with 8-hour refresher.
  • Ability to obtain a “Secret” security clearance.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on a Department of Defense (DoD) facility.
