Project OverviewThe Thacker Pass lithium resource is the largest known lithium reserve in the United States. As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors to build the facility, which will produce more lithium carbonate than any other U.S. facility and power over one million electric vehicles per year.
Job SummaryIn this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
Major Responsibilities- Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor and maintaining the overall construction schedule, the 90‑day and four‑week look‑ahead schedules for labor and equipment
- Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate action to correct deficiencies
- Coordinate safety training in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor
- Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy
- Ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility
- Monitor the activities of craft to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules
- Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs
- Review craft time records using established automated tools
- Monitor installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
- Implement and enforce policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant experience, or 12‑14 years of relevant work experience
- Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control; familiar with construction tools and equipment
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience in piping operations; coordinate with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access)
- Experience managing union craft and heavy industrial U.S. direct‑hire construction
- Knowledge of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health Handbook and Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility
- Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations
- Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accidents safety program
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills
