Job Overview
Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) has an immediate opening for a Compliance Analyst I or II to work at our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada. The Compliance position is responsible for supporting and implementing VEA’s compliance program for NERC reliability standards.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Business, Legal, Engineering or related discipline, or a minimum of 10 years of job related experience, or a combination of education and experience that would satisfy the requirements of this position.
Experience:
Position level (Compliance Analyst I, II, III, or Senior) shall depend on years of experience.
- Compliance Analyst I – no experience required
- Compliance Analyst II – a minimum of three years of experience in a business or office setting with demonstration of ability to organize, track, and coordinate projects/records
- Compliance Analyst III – a minimum of seven years of experience is required, with at least four years of directly-related compliance work experience.
- Senior Compliance Analyst – a minimum of eleven years of experience is required, with at least nine years of directly-related compliance work experience.
Experience with NERC compliance, electric utilities, and information technology systems preferred. Alternative equivalencies to this experience may be considered appropriate and acceptable at the discretion of executive management.
Knowledge:
In depth knowledge of NERC standards and regional requirements, including CIP compliance, is preferred.
Risk Assessment:
This position requires access to certain secure assets and information. As a result, individuals in this position must be able to successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment every seven years, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
