Job Summary

The objective role of the PEPCC is to provide the necessary motivation to all project members to deliver a high level of excellence in terms of Safety, Quality and Productivity. The objective is achieved through a site-specific program of reward and recognition combined with clear and regular communication on project status and upcoming events and milestones. The role also supports the implementation of approved actions resulting from employee pulse surveys, and the recording and publicizing of periodical accomplishments and innovations identified and implemented on the Thacker Pass project that may be transferred as learned processes for use on other projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a project-specific reward and recognition program for approval that will promote a positive project culture of safe work, high productivity, quality workmanship and achievement of project objectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and execute the approved program with support from Area Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors and field supervision.
  • Identify and obtain approval from the Site Manager (or designee) for recognition of Job Well Done, Excellence Awards and Innovation in conjunction with Area supervision.
  • Plan and promote regular events to celebrate milestone schedules, including Site Manager approval, catering planning, and coordinating labor for event setup and teardown.
  • Maintain accurate program records of recognition, types of recognition, and related details.
  • Order and maintain inventory of recognition gifts.
  • Produce weekly reports detailing events, planning, and interviews to demonstrate program value.
  • Assist Project Communications Lead with gathering site news, crew interviews, pulse survey reporting, newsletter/bulletin and magazine copy, and manage project messaging via notice boards and social media.
  • Collaborate with Bechtel Workforce Hub Manager and work with the WFH Operations Contractor to promote programs and resident participation in events.
  • Support Community Relations efforts under guidance of the Site Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned within personal capability.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Effective communications skills for motivating team members and presenting plans clearly.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
