Scope:The FP&A Manager plays a key role in driving financial excellence across our Speciality Eye Care manufacturing sites in Hastings, UK and Eerbeek, Netherlands. This role covers all financial aspects of operations, including financial planning, compliance, inventory management, and capital expenditure. The position ensures accurate recording of manufacturing costs, oversee cycle counts, analyse cost drivers and variances, and develop standardized reporting and insights to support strategic decisions.
Summary:The role involves collecting and analysing complex financial data related to manufacturing expenses, improving budget and forecast accuracy, and identifying opportunities to optimize operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include reconciling and tracking manufacturing variances, preparing actionable reports, and managing financial planning for capex budgets and forecasts. Insights generated will guide critical business decisions.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:- Act as a trusted financial partner to Business Unit Leads and management, providing insights that drive informed decisions.
- Deliver manufacturing budgets, quarterly forecasts, and near‑term projections.
- Prepare cost reconciliation reports and analyse changes in operational spend.
- Support cost analysis for expansion projects and ensure resource alignment.
- Collaborate with Accounting to implement best practices for inventory, fixed assets, and cost transactions globally.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and support audits.
- Develop standardized reports, KPIs, and analytics to monitor performance and trends.
- Oversee proper cost allocation and create business cases for capital investments.
- Monitor YTD capex spends versus budget and approved CEA amounts.
- Review and document inventory adjustments and major expenses prior to PO issuance.
- Partner with local teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of manufacturing expenses.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
Occasional travel may be required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Collaborative and approachable communication style.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
- Normal office environment.
- Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the role.
- Must be prepared to work extended hours on occasion, especially during month‑end close.
- 5+ years combined accounting / finance experience working in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics required.
