About the Position
Position Overview
One of our Partners in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant preferred; Nurse Practitioner considered) to provide inpatient Trauma Surgery coverage at an ACS Level I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center.
This opportunity offers Top 15% APP pay nationally (2026 trauma/critical care market data) with provider compensation ranging from $170–$180/hr .
3 shifts per week
12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
60% nights / 40% days
No call responsibilities
Estimated total contract earnings (May–Dec): $220,000+
Assignment Highlights
ACS Level I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center
Inpatient Trauma Surgery service
3 x 12-hour shifts weekly
60% nights required (1–3 nights/week typical)
No 24-hour shifts
No reverse night-to-day scheduling
OT after 12 hours daily
Weekly OT after 168 hours
Trauma / Critical Care / ED-Critical Care backgrounds preferred
Prepaid travel & housing
Malpractice insurance covered
HPA Healthcare is Joint Commission–certified
Skills & Experience
Required
Active New Jersey License
DEA & CDS (current)
ATLS
ACLS
PALS
Level I or Level II Trauma experience
Preferred
ICU experience
Pediatric trauma exposure
Bedside ultrasound proficiency
Procedural Experience
Central line placement
Arterial line placement
Chest tube placement
Simple & intermediate wound repair
FAST exam preferred
Ultrasound-guided procedures preferred
Patient load: 10–25 per shift
