Job Title:
Code 10 Driver with PDP Reporting to:
Operations Job Purpose: To safely operate a Code 10 vehicle for the transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with road traffic legislation and site-specific safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications & Training Requirements:
- Minimum 3-4 years proven driving experience with Code 10 vehicles
- Previous experience in construction, industrial, logistics, or shutdown environments
- Operate vehicles in full compliance with the National Road Traffic Act, company policies, and site rules.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete inspection checklists before use.
- Ensure that all loads are secure and legally compliant before transportation.
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects to the Supervisor.
- Transport materials, equipment, and personnel safely to and from designated locations.
- Plan routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery notes, and vehicle documentation.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Adhere to fuel management and parking procedures.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations
- Defensive driving skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
