Team Leader – 35 hours per week – Barnoldswick (Driver Essential)
Operations – Area Manager – Responsible for Support Workers – 35 hour working week.
Job PurposeTo lead and direct a team in developing and delivering person‑centred service, manage resources to meet service‑user and contract outcomes, develop staff skills and knowledge for high‑quality services, apply the tools of person‑centred planning, review and team development, and embed a quality‑assurance framework at a service level.

- Provide on‑the‑job coaching, regular supervisions and appraisals for staff.
- Identify and meet staff training and development needs.
- Organise and facilitate productive team meetings.
- Promote and nurture good practice.
- Ensure practice aligns with company policy, procedure and legislation.
- Deliver service quality meeting required standards.
- Promote community connections.
- Manage reportable events appropriately and resolve them.
- Evidenc[e] quality service delivery.
- Assist the Area Manager with effective resource management.
Experience:
- Significant experience of person‑centred planning and review.
- Significant experience supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
- Significant experience of people management.
- Experience of leading and managing a staff team.
- Experience of undertaking staff supervisions and appraisals.
- Experience of partnership working.
- Experience of managing resources within an agreed budget.
- Experience of using IT systems in service and people management.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of equality and anti‑discriminatory practices.
- Excellent time management with ability to plan and prioritise complex workload.
- Ability to inspire and drive person‑centred principles and practices.
- Ability to assess, plan and monitor care and support to achieve individual outcomes.
- Ability to engage with service users, families and carers to develop positive and trusting relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental health or learning disabilities.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Ability to use person‑centred tools to develop individuals and teams.
- Ability to apply policy and procedure to achieve quality outcomes.
- Initiative, self‑motivation and resourcefulness.
- Effective resource management.
- ICT competence for information, performance reporting and communication.
Qualifications & Training:
- NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within a set period.
- Training in Person‑Centred practices (planning, review, team development).
Other:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and unsocial hours.
- Willingness to work 7 days a week, including weekends.
- 35 hour working week with flexibility (9‑day fortnight or 4.5‑day week).
- 33 days annual leave per year, plus option to buy or sell additional leave.
- No shift requirement for Team Leaders.
