Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers. This role owns the full front-end business development cycle from prospecting and outreach to closing new accounts and maintaining long-term customer relationships. The BDR plays a critical role in expanding market presence, generating revenue, and building strategic partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Identify and research potential customers aligned with target market segments
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
- Utilize outbound strategies including cold calls, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and social selling
- Attend industry events and conferences as appropriate
- Initiate contact with prospective clients to understand needs and pain points
- Conduct discovery conversations to assess fit and opportunity size
- Present company offerings in a compelling, consultative manner
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed to support solution development
- Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial contact to close
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract terms
- Negotiate agreements and close new business
- Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired customers
- Ensure smooth onboarding and transition to long-term account management (if applicable)
- Maintain ongoing relationships to drive retention and upsell opportunities
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM system
- Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on performance metrics
- Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to leadership

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or related role
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using CRM tools preferred
