This is a full-time opportunity with a 4-day work week, consistent hours, and a strong benefits package. Ideal candidates will have solid CNC bar experience and the ability to machine large frames and weldments.
The Bar/Horizontal Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC bar or horizontal machining centers to produce precision parts according to customer drawings and specifications. This role requires strong setup skills, G & M code knowledge, and the ability to handle large or complex parts.
Schedule
-1st or 2nd shift available
-4-day work week (Monday - Thursday)
-1st shift hours 5:00 am - 3:00 pm
-2nd shift hours 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
-40-50 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
-Set up and operate CNC bar or horizontal machining centers
-Load, edit, and verify CNC programs
-Set up tooling, fixtures, and work holding as required
-Machine large frames, weldments, and complex parts
-Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
-Manufacture parts to precise customer specifications
-Maintain machines and perform basic maintenance
-Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
-Communicate any production or quality issues to supervision

Pay rate is $30 - $40 per hour, $2.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift.

Required Education
-High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-Required Experience & Qualifications
-5+ years of CNC bar machining experience
- Experience with G & M code programming
-Ability to machine large frames and weldments
-Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Experience with tooling, fixturing, and setup
-Understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
-Ability to use precision measuring instruments
-Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
