We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Safety Manager to lead and support safety initiatives, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety across all levels and locations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, hands‑on experience in implementing safety programs, and a proactive approach to risk management.
Key Job Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Investigate accidents and near‑misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Coordinate and lead safety meetings, training sessions, and safety drills.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and recommend safety equipment as needed.
- Monitor and report on safety metrics and trends to leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and certifications.
- Stay current on safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safe work practices.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Technician (OHST), preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Travel required to Kurz sites in WI and IL, most will be single‑day trips, but could include some multi‑day trips.
