Job Description

Second working level of the engineering series. Incumbents perform moderate to complex engineering tasks with limited supervision and lead routine engineering projects. This role has no direct reports.

Responsibilities & Values
  • Safety

    • Serves as a role model to others by ensuring that all project work is completed in accordance with our safety policies.

    • Determines customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develop and evaluate solutions thereby defining project scope.
    • Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project based on direction provided from manager.
  • Collaboration
    • Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification.
    • Provides purchasing services for project materials, reviewing potential vendors, coordinating with Purchasing, issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and expediting delivery.
  • Accountability
    • Manages project costs and scheduling, and communicates pertinent data to appropriate areas for engineering projects that may vary in scope and responsibilities.
    • Completes Project Close‑out and Post‑mortem Analysis for appropriate projects.
  • Results & Out performance
    • Participates in continuous improvement / kaizen teams and leads teams as requested.
    • Secures and maintains knowledge of current industry practices as they may apply to Amcor products and equipment.
    • Assists with installation, checkout, start‑up and training as necessary.
  • Talent & Leadership
    • Supports projects and initiatives in a designated technical area of expertise.
    • Utilizes communication skills to effectively communicate with cross‑functional teams.
    • Sets personal and supports team goals with the strategic direction of the business and initiates and implements a cross‑section of projects.
    • Develops and implements solutions when a chosen course of action is not yielding effective results.
    • Manages project spend using consistent and organized methodologies.
  • Facilities
    • Recognizes and applies successful company best practices to engineering design, layouts and installations.
    • Performs testing and validation of facility and manufacturing infrastructure designs and systems.
    • Performs engineering calculations to support facility and manufacturing infrastructure engineering work.
    • Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans and specifications using computer software.
  • Electrical
    • Creates and plans designs for electrical machine systems.
    • Performs testing and validation of electrical machine designs and systems.
    • Performs engineering calculations to support design and electrical engineering work.
    • Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans and specifications using computer software.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Specialization in Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls/Automation Engineering or related technical field.
  • 3‑6 years of experience.
  • 40% travel required.
