About the Role

At Shark Ninja, we create intelligent, connected products that delight consumers and disrupt categories. We're growing our engineering teams across Firmware, Cloud, and Mobile App development. We are building systems that integrate hardware, software, and digital experiences using AI-driven processes to help accelerate design, coding, and testing.

Come help design and deliver cloud-native solutions that power Shark Ninja's connected device ecosystem. You'll build scalable backend services, IoT connectivity platforms, and APIs that enable seamless experiences between devices and mobile applications. You'll contribute to our cloud infrastructure and help architect the next generation of services supporting all Shark Ninja connected products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable cloud services and APIs using Type Script and Python that power Shark Ninja's connected device ecosystem.
  • Build IoT connectivity platforms using AWS IoT Core that enable reliable device-to-cloud communication for millions of connected products.
  • Collaborate with mobile, embedded, and hardware teams to deliver end-to-end connected product experiences.
  • Work with product management to define and refine product requirements.
  • Architect and implement distributed systems using Lambda, Docker, and AWS services that integrate cloud infrastructure with mobile apps and connected devices.
  • Write, execute, and automate tests to ensure reliability, performance, and consumer‑ready quality at scale.
  • Monitor, debug, and optimize cloud infrastructure performance using Cloud Watch for consumer‑scale deployment across diverse device ecosystems.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional development teams spanning the entire software stack from embedded to mobile.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience in cloud‑native development with deep understanding of Type Script and/or Python.
  • Proficiency with AWS services:
    Lambda, IoT Core, Dynamo

    DB, Cloud Watch, SNS/SQS, and infrastructure as code (CDK) tools.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional development teams across the software stack.
  • Understanding of full‑stack system architecture and cloud‑to‑mobile integration patterns.
  • Comfort with AI‑assisted development workflows and modern developer tooling.
  • Experience with IoT protocols and device connectivity (MQTT, HTTP/REST, Web Sockets).
  • A passion for creating consumer‑friendly, connected product experiences.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a drive to be part of an A‑Player engineering team.
Preferred
  • Experience with AWS IoT Core, Kinesis data streaming, message queues (SNS/SQS), serverless architectures, and containerization (Docker).
  • Prior work with connected devices, IoT ecosystems, or large‑scale device management platforms.
  • Knowledge of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and WiFi connectivity protocols.
  • Experience with Rust, Go, C/C++, or other systems programming languages.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, AI‑powered development tools, or prompt engineering for software development tasks.
  • Background in robotics, consumer electronics, or smart home products.
