Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Outreach Worker at Rediscovery Independent Living
. We are an independent living program that supports youth ages 18 to 24 in small apartments or shared housing, helping them become successful, productive community members.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany youth to appointments and support them in achieving their goals.
  • Develop your case management skills to assist program participants in finding housing.
  • Serve as an effective role model while establishing limits and fostering appropriate relationships with clients.
  • Familiarize yourself with our mission and culture through dedicated orientation.
Compensation and Schedule

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour
. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Sign-on Bonus: We are offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid after 3 months of employment and another $500 paid after 6 months of employment), as well as a $2,000 bilingual bonus to new hires who speak a second language other than English!

Schedule: This is a full-time position that requires travel 3 to 4 days a week in the Waltham, Worcester and Lowell areas; 1 to 2 days in the office in Needham, MA. Mileage reimbursement provided!

Requirements
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with older at-risk youth and young adults (17–23 y.o.) preferred.
  • 32-40 hours per week with occasional nights and weekends to meet youth needs.
  • Bilingual candidates who can read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of the state DMH and DCF systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • General computer skills and strong financial literacy skills.
  • Active driver’s license required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
