Position: PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - PER DIEM-HOURLY

For over 40 years, North Hill, a not‑for‑profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment to patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing patient and family education and counseling regarding concerns, planning, implementing and modifying treatment procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation.

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with Residents, family members, and Team Members to implement and execute an established Residents treatment under the supervision of the licensed therapist.

Job Specific Duties

  • Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
  • Follows through with treatment plans for functional, goal‑based outcomes and ensures approval for services from referring physician
  • Treats Residents according to treatment plan
  • Records clinical documentation according to regulatory and professional guidelines
  • Records daily treatment charges per approved billing guidelines
  • Instructs families and nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs
  • Participates in discharge planning
  • Communicates with supervisor and other clinical Team Members regarding Residents care needs, progress, and plans
  • Provides coverage cross campus as needed
  • Recognizes and reports all allegations of Resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, social media exposure, and/or misappropriation of Resident property immediately
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, Residents care conferences, utilization review meetings, and other meetings as required or directed
  • Coordinates with members of other departments, attending physicians, committee members, and other staff within the Rehab department
  • Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas and department
